This is how you measure your wall for wallpaper!

Have you decided which design wallpaper you want on your wall?

Then now comes the measuring of the wall to be able to order it properly. This is essential!

Because both you and we want the design to look good on your wall. Not only in terms of size, but certainly also the images should come out well. This is very well possible with custom wallpaper, at Creative Lab Amsterdam also called custom wallpaper.

We adapt the design for your wall. The parts such as animals and plants are adjusted so that you can still see them. So do you have a sloping wall, a window, a heater that you can't ignore? Or a bed or a closet that you want to place against the wall? Then you can indicate that and the design will remain intact.

How should you measure your wall exactly?

We explain this step by step for three different situations in the videos below:

1. For a standard wall,
2. A wall with a window and
3. A wall with sloping wall.

1. Measuring a standard wall for wallpaper

Measuring is knowing! It is possible that your wall is askew. Therefore you measure the wall to be sure, both left and right, above and below. Count on a 5 cm margin for both measurements to make sure the wallpaper fits perfectly on your wall.

2. Measuring a wall with a window for wallpaper

Do you want wallpaper made to measure and you have for example a window in your wall, then you go as follows:

• Measure the entire length of the wall. Add 5 cm.
• Measure the entire width of the wall. Add 5 cm to this measurement.
• Measure from the bottom of your window to the bottom of the wall and from the top of your window to the top of the wall.
• Measure from the side of your window, to the side of your wall, on both sides.
• If you ordered a sample from Creative Lab Amsterdam, you received a folder. In this folder you draw the wall with window and fill in the measurements: The total height and width of the wall, and all distances to the window. If you did not order a sample and therefore do not have a folder, you can fill this in on another sheet.
• Once you have written down and drawn all the measurements, take a picture of this and send it to: wallpaper@creativelabamsterdam.com

3. Measuring a slanted wall for wallpaper

If you order a customised wallpaper from us and you have a slanted wall, then measure it as follows:

• Measure the whole length of the wall. Add 5 cm.
• Measure the entire width of the wall. Add 5 cm.
• Measure the length from the bottom of the wall to the slanted ridge.
• Measure the width from the sloping ridge to the side of the wall.
• If you ordered a sample from Creative Lab Amsterdam, you received a folder. Draw the wall with window and fill in the measurements: The total height and width of the wall, and all distances to the window. If you did not order a sample and therefore do not have a folder, you can fill this in on another sheet.
• Once you have written down and drawn all the measurements, take a picture of this and send it to: wallpaper@creativelabamsterdam.com
