Create your own play corner
Do you want to give your children a nice and fun place to play?
We recently decorated a play corner and were so enthusiastic about it that we would like to share it with you for inspiration!
Eye-catcher
When children walk into the room, they are immediately captivated by the pictures on the wall. Each child has a different item that appeals to his or her imagination. From the elephant in the balloon and the floating whale to Circus Director Goose. Is there a little gnome in the mushroom? And what is going on in the circus tent? Chances are that they will immediately start filling in stories and feel like they are playing in this beautiful world.
Made-to-measure wallpaper or a wallpaper circle?
We think the 'Milky Way Theatre' wallpaper is a great basis for a play corner or room! The imaginative images and expressive, cheerful colours go well with children's toys and the furniture and other interiors we have. The design is available in a mural, choose this if one of the standard sizes of the mural fits well. You could also have chosen the 'Milky Way Theatre' wallpaper circle or the custom-made wallpaper. The customised wallpaper would have been the best choice if the wall design had to be adapted to interior items, sloping walls, a window, a door or if the wall is larger than the standard dimensions of the mural. Read more about the differences between personalised wallpaper and mural (fixed sizes) if you want to know what fits your room best.
Decorating a playroom
A playroom isn't a playroom without furniture and great toys! Together with stylist Kim Timmerman, we decorated this playroom.
Kim: "The wallpaper is my mood board. I dive into a world and make a story with it. While shopping, I came across the wheelbarrow at Cin In Wonen. I continued to embroider on it with the Milky Way theme. A wheelbarrow full of cool toys, a different kind of storage for a change! So I got a nice idea for storing all those toys.
A clothes rack by Leo and Moon (already so beautiful in itself) with fancy dresses that should be seen. The director's coat with the bobbins on the shoulders is his favourite. The large striped storage boxes are beautiful to look at and fit the atmosphere perfectly!"
The clothes rack 'Nine' by Leo & Moon and the wheelbarrow with contents (picked out at Cin in Wonen) are the most defining items. The tiger rug from Doing Goods is available in small and large sizes. The boxes by Oyoy Living Design complete the look and are also handy for storing away the small toys! For more accessories for children's rooms, check out their website.
For inspiration
As well as decorating this room, we have lots more ideas for playrooms. Nice wooden toys, like puzzles and games are a must for us. A wooden doll's house or train track as an eye-catcher, which children with their imagination often can't get enough of. For wooden toys we prefer to go to our favourite shops. Like Goochem or de Oude Muis in Amsterdam. No doubt you will go home with some nice children's books and presents. Dress up clothes and musical instruments are also a must. Provide a smooth floor where the kids can play and which is easy to clean. A soft rug and good lighting complete the room!
